How did the concept of the book come about? Why a book about a girl from the Maasai tribe?

Supa Miriam,

I wrote the book because i am interested in capturing cultures that are changing from nomadic and semi-nomadic into sedentary lifestyles. I like to celebrtate what they are just in case change is too sudden or overwhelming and that is lost. I chose to write about a Maasai girl becuiase they face the most challenges as school becomes a possibility, and other traditions begin to change. I also like to celebrate just how independent and amazing girls are in their own worlds.
