If I went to Kenya how would I approach the Maasai respectfully and befriend them like you did?

That's a tough one. If you go on safari and are lucky to have a Maasai guide that is a good way to begin. That's how Kakuta's western education began, a friendship that evovled from Kakuta being the guide. You can get invited to the village and then your own special realtionship can begin. I took a group on safari in '05 and we went to Kakuta's village for 4 days to do community work. Now the people from that group are still closely connected to Kakuta's village. Friendliness trancends all cultural barriers, and before you know you have made a new friend(s).
